- FAQs
What age should my puppy be?
Using positive reinforcement means that puppy training can begin right away. The sooner you start the better - start your puppy off on the right paw. Because we do training at your home, you do not need to wait till your puppy has had its full set of vaccinations.
What to expect?
Training occurs in the comfort of your home, our facility or nearby park. During the initial consultation we determine what training is required by doing a detailed behaviour questionnaire. Each dog has individual needs, and therefore each lesson is tailor made to fit those needs. During our work together we work to increase the bond between you and your dog, which brings along the trust needed for your dog to truly want to work and be with you. Depending on the needs, we may work on confidence, proximity, impulse control and tolerance of frustration. By working on these concepts as well as behaviours such as sit, stay, settle, recall and loose leash walking, we end up with real life results that you can take on the road. Training should ideally include all family members, and be consistent. This way the dog learns to bond to and listen to all family members and overall training becomes easier. Your homework/play time is to practise what we learnt in class!
